Next Terrain Competition Ideas

First off I just wanted to say that this last contest was a true disaster, and that I am utterly disappointed of the way many people acted in the poll thread. So as your friend I plead you, next time, avoid these methods if not for fair play's sakes than for yours. Thank you.

Anyway, here are some themes I've thought of:
- Back to basics (no imports)
- High-resolution pieces
- Doodad abuse (overuse of doodads without any actual terrain)
- Four seasons session (same scene, different season, so 4 terrains per member)
- Alien world (imports beyond UTM permitted)

Tell me what you think.

Good ideas, except for high res... Boo High Res!

I was thinking also maybe constructions (same as doodad abuse?), but I am digging that Alien World one, but would rather have maybe a modified UTM for that, so that we are all on the same base.

Lair? Like, just making something that you would see an epic/awesome Boss inhabiting.

I like the four seasons. A lot.

No to High-Res. I refuse to host it. :P

Well the last one was nature-related so I think a change up would do nicely.

Most themes are going to be "nature". Not a fan of limiting people with no imports and stuff, although if everyone wants it, I'd host it.

I am leaning towards four seasons, and the doodad abuse. I think both could have some cool terrains created.

Doodad abuse is lame.

Well maybe if it had a name, and the objective was a construction of something out of doodads. But I don't see spamming random doodads all over the place a form of terraining.

Jk, but I think it'd be a good idea to see what people can do with the doodads, although we probably wouldn't have as many entries...

The doodad abuse I have in mind is precisely what Saber and a few others described: something constructed out of doodads, not just randomness.

Be more specific then. I don't mind a structure contest. Which would include anything that you can think of, be it robot, animal, person, building, a painting.

Anyway, more opinoins? Seems the seasons and doodad themes are taking the lead...

I think Four Seasons is the best. Anyways, I would like to add that this one should be determined by JUDGES ONLY, and NOT a public poll, since last time the poll failed and everyone cried about it.

Or we could do it based on a color like I suggested last time...

Yes. This means, however, that we need a jury of competent people...
