Hey Rover, I'll do this request for you.

Well im guessing your giving each peice it's own abillities where they can turn and change angles right?

If that the case im doing this instead of making a lot of pieces with 1 piece so you can manipulate in a lot of angles.

Heres a test, model is not UV mapped yet (textured) so you can test the animation if you like it. Remember it's just a test so it only has 2 positions.

I also thought an interesting idea for your map would be this. At the start you can choose your builder. There are going to be 3 builders or more if you want. Each builder has it's own type of pieces for examaple"

Builder 1: Has your type of rail.

Builder 2: Has this type of rail.

Builder 3: Has this type of rail.

Tell me if you like my idea and I my idea with each piece having its abillitie. Heres the test of the model.

Ok im working and finishing model type of rail 1. I'll move middle bars to the bottom. Btw did you liked my idea using animations to move the model? Yeah lol I know it does look like a ladder thats why im making differents types.

Questions, Comments, suggestions.

Something to be clear, You will only be able to build off of your last piece, And will only have options that are allowed from that last piece to the piece your setting down.

I plan on allowing every time you set a piece to be able to go up or down 15 degrees. And be able to turn left or right 15 degrees.
With just the models i am asking for it will be able to turn and do loops no problem.

Latter, when this game is done. I may add pieces that rotate. So you can side ways.
But at the moment it will be able to go left and right 15 degrees from one piece to the next. and or up or down 15 degrees.
But right now with these pieces there is about 576 ways to place them. But the way ill set it up will only give you 0-9 pieces you can place. So it will be easy to build them.

Avoiding at moment....This part.
If the side ways thing is added so you can rotate the track 15 degrees.Then you will always have only give you 0-21 pieces you can place.it would be 24x24x24= 13824 different tracks. But only 144 imported models (I think...). But i am avoiding this for now. But with this it would do everything possible for a roller coaster, at least that i know of.. (picture 1 would be possible if this gets added at some point)

Well I not 100% sure i get what you mean, But if you mean you can have a option to just add loop with out making it your self by all the pieces ya that will be there, 1-10 predefined things. but if you want to build your loop and customize it how you want. you got to do it your self.
Ill draw up my idea for how your spells will look on how you will make the next piece. most of my stuff is on paper.

You do get its 13 pieces but only 12 if you keep it like a ladder. (Please agree with keeping it like a ladder. So solves so many issues.)

Facing direction zero it faces The way it should, If all the pieces can do this it will be Very helpful in my coding (So Far PERFECT!).

NOTE:
The only thing i fear we might get wrong is that, they wont be proportional to my graph. Each piece gos from the center of one square to the center of the next.
The next piece is a little longer, because its just as long but it also gos up 1.

mario_64 I hope i was alot clearer this time, i made it a point to try my best to make it clear, if not ill work at it my communication skills are not wonderful. And Thanks alot for doing this for me. You have been a great help already on my other game...And i am still getting there on it. But i am setting it aside for a bit. (I have to re due alot of it because i misunderstood condition statements.

Alright I did this as for now I still need to do 2 pieces one with the raill all the way down so you can rotate it and the side ways one tell me if you like what I did.

Note: I know all animations are messed up but I'll make a sample map to show my idea.

K there Perfect.

The way you have it i would scratch the piece you had in other post.
And just keep it like you have it where facing zero faces north for all pieces.

So only 10 more models.

Everything in those pictures will be possible except, the first picture, not latter on, but i am not going to request the models to do that till the game fully works and runs good. that's just more stuff. That could be added.

At this point what i had in mind was this.

The picture shows How i currently had it planed. Its pretty rough draft but its the main idea.


EDIT:Ok i am relly scread i thought of this before but i forgot. So i plan on allow it to go up 50 heights In first picture. Up 50 squares. But. That means. I would be able to stack at least 12.5 times. Hmm nevermind. i pretty dang sure were ok. Forget i said anything lol. We are way fine. I might even be able to allow it to go even higher now. :)

Nommaly More problems are made as you go, but your models just seem to solve more and more as we go.

Ok better yet, I made them from every possible angle if I miss one tell and I will do it. ( I probably repeat some but it does not matter,)

Btw, your going to tint them with the editor right? If not it is going to take me a while to texture all.

As for my idea of the animations just forget it, did not worked lol.

And if you want I can create different type of rails if you want also to add more variety.

And if your able to make this map, is going to be awesome. If you want I can create the (the thing where you sit and actually take the ride dunno how it's called.)

OK, Cool , but not quite right.

What i found was The same piece turned or rotated. thats not what i am looking for.

The first model will do all of those, (not roated but i dont want that for the time being) So don't need all of those. (i can turn any model in the game with facing angle command.)

What i do need. Is , Ill just say the next model. The next model i would need would still be facing the same direction as the first, but it what the 2ed arrow is pointing at on the first picture. because it will end up being a bit longer because its at a angle going up 1 and going over 4. Where the first piece only went over 4. If that's not clear ill try again to make it more clear.

With just these 12 pieces it will be Very flexible. 12 pieces will really be like 24x24 = 576 piece . :)

Edit: let me re look at them all. i only looked a a few, so give me a bit

Ok, 14,15,16 are the right idea. Just try to make it scaled to the picture above. The next model i need (2ed model, Is one that gos up 15 degrees, Or what my picture above shows .

The rest i dont need. prehaps in 4-6 weeks i will but dont worry about those peices that rotate side ways ect for now.

OK the right idea but not quite there.

You did 3 pieces in between the rail being flat and stirght up but there should be 5.
Some pieces are longer then others. See the first picture how the first line is 4 over 0 up
the 2ed line is 4 over 1 up. Thus its a bit longer and its at a angle. (15 degress to be precise)


See If you look at the 2ed picture. At the bottom there is straight piece.
And you did that and its wonderful.
Then there is 5 more piece in till it gos Straight up.

So Straight piece 0 degrees up, then piece 2 is 15 degrees up. piece 3 is 30 degrees up and piece 4 is 45 degrees up and 5 is 60 degrees up and piece 6 is 75 degrees up and then piece 7 90 degrees (you made this is great. where it gos straight up)

But try to make it to scale of the 2ed picture.

So there is 5 pieces between the first piece that's flat and the 90 degree piece that straight up.

Ok, ok I get the degree part but if you would tell me this it would actually be easier.

Piece 1 / 0 degrees up / (number of pieces in the middle)??
Piece 2 / 15 degrees up / (number of pieces in the middle)??
Piece 3 / 30 degrees up / (number of pieces in the middle)??
Piece 4 / 45 degrees up / (number of pieces in the middle)??
Piece 5 / 60 degrees up / (number of pieces in the middle)??
Piece 6 / 75 degrees up / (number of pieces in the middle)??
Piece 7 / 90 degrees up / (number of pieces in the middle)??

As for telling me the pieces between its how im actually going to measure for longer sizes and short sizes.

Most will have 3 bars in the middle but the end parts will be a bit longer.
Ok , Here is the first 3. I figured i would draw out all the details to help with any confusion.
And ya its impossible to get them to be exactly proportional but just as close as possible with out alot of pain for you.

Check out picture. You may have to dl it to read it.

P.S. Ill Draw up the other 9. but its 1:40 am so i gonna sleep.

Edit: I hope this way will work too, i know you were thinking of doing it by middle rods of some sort. I hope this picture clears things up.
x = Length of track. Angle = angle up from ground being zero.

Thanx Alot for working with me. Sorry if i sound demanding. I really like your models!
