Hello everyone.

I am here for create discussion about subjects of DotA nostalgia. How old versions of heroes, items, creeps, etc.

Ok, I'll start:

Longing of old naix, which nowadays would be think the most powerful carrer with items.

Feast

N'aix restores some of his life force by eating flesh.

Level 1 - Regains 10% of attack damage.
Level 2 - Regains 20% of attack damage.
Level 3 - Regains 30% of attack damage.
Level 4 - Regains 40% of attack damage.

Poison Sting

N'aix's attacks sting, adding a slight poison-based damage and significantly slowing movement speed.
Lasts 2 seconds.

Level 1 - Deals 2 damage per second and slows movement speed by 10%.
Level 2 - Deals 4 damage per second and slows movement speed by 20%.
Level 3 - Deals 7 damage per second and slows movement speed by 30%.
Level 4 - Deals 10 damage per second and slows movement speed by 40%.

Anabolic Frenzy

Increases the attack speed and movement of N'aix.

Level 1 - 3% movement and 10% attack.

Level 4 - 100% increase, 20% damage taken increase.

Chain Lightning

Hurls a bolt of damaging lightning at a target enemy that jumps to nearby enemies. Each jump deals less damage.

Level 4 - 290 damage, jumps 9 times.

Unholy Fervor

Increases the movement speed and life regeneration rate of Razor.

Level 1 - 3% movement, 0.5 hp/sec regeneration bonus.
Level 2 - 5% movement, 1.0 hp/sec regeneration bonus.
Level 3 - 8% movement, 1.5 hp/sec regeneration bonus.
Level 4 - 10% movement, 2.0 hp/sec regeneration bonus.

Storm Seeker

Summons a storm that permenantly follows Razor. Every few seconds, it strikes Razor's enemies with savage lightning bolts.

Level 1 - Deals 60 damage.
Level 2 - Deals 90 damage.
Level 3 - Deals 120 damage.

Medusa was worse, but think coolest.

Split Shot

Medusa magically splits her shot into three arrows. These arrows deal a lower percent of her normal damage.

Level 1 - 45% damage
Level 2 - 55% damage
Level 3 - 65% damage
Level 4 - 75% damage

Chain Lightning

Purge

Casts a powerful anti-magic buff at a target enemy unit. Slows movement and attack speeds for 5 seconds.

Level 1 - Slows speed by a factor of 2.
Level 2 - Slows speed by a factor of 3.
Level 3 - Slows speed by a factor of 5.
Deals 1000 damage to summoned units.

Aegis of the Immortal

Best map item, I think. Price high, but can keep your safe money and one excellent defense item.

Description: Reduces 35%, adds 10 armor, gives 30% chance to block 60 damage and will revive bearer 3 times and teleport him to safety.

Viper had same frenzy skill that razor has back then. Naga had crits that was changed to rip tide, which riptide, was changed 2 times(riptide v.1 was a wave skill and riptide v.2 was an AoE skill)

I prefer the critical than that skill for the Naga. I coolest and best (in my opinion). The ultimate of Naga, was different, but I think it was imba.

Song of the Siren

Slithice sings a tempting song. Enemy units near her are put to sleep.

Level 1 - Lasts 6 seconds, affects a small area.
Level 2 - Lasts 7 seconds, affects a large area.
Level 3 - Lasts 8 seconds, affects a huge area.

However, does not work in the structures (towers, barracks, etc.). And so could attack the base, without the enemy heroes can stop.

I remember a lot of awesome heroes back in the old days... Like really old days. I was able to play them thanks to my older brother who collected all versions of DOTA and shit I fell in love with them. The most notable for me was Ryu Havanna (or something.. Not sure about the havanna) who was the old riki.

The old invoker was a lot more imba too. The one where he still has billions of skills. Oh, I also remember a version where Lina inverse was still a guy too!

Second spell of the Ezalor was very imba. But no that was why I liked more he. It was the ancient skill called Ignis Fatuus.

Illuminate

Channels a ball of positive energy, letting it build up 100 damage per second. When released, it damages all enemies in a line. The distance also improves with channeling time.

Level 1 - Can be channeled for 2 second, maximum range is 500.
Level 2 - Can be channeled for 3 seconds, maximum range is 600.
Level 3 - Can be channeled for 4 seconds, maximum range is 700.
Level 4 - Can be channeled for 5 seconds, maximum range is 800.

Mana Leak

Casts a powerful inhibiting magic on another unit. Should they cast a spell, a portion of their remaining mana leaks away.
Lasts 22 seconds.

Level 1 - 20% of their remaining mana leaks away.
Level 2 - 40% of their remaining mana leaks away.
Level 3 - 60% of their remaining mana leaks away.
Level 4 - 80% of their remaining mana leaks away.

Chakra Magic

Channels chakras through a friendly unit, creating a surge of mana. Increases hit point regeneration for 30 seconds.

Level 1 - Restores 90 mana, regenerates .15 hit points per second and gives 7% damage increase.
Level 2 - Restores 180 mana, regenerates, regenerates .3 hit points per second and gives 14% damage increase.
Level 3 - Restores 270 mana, regenerates .45 hit points per second and gives 21% damage increase.
Level 4 - Restores 360 mana, regenerates .6 hit points per second and gives 28% damage increase

Ignis Fatuus

Summons the Spirit of Light to assist the Sentinel. Has no attack, but liberates deceased units as allies, can transport himself at will, and is difficult to hit.

Level 1 - Souls are easy to kill and deal little damage.
Level 2 - Souls are decent fighters.
Level 3 - Souls are liberated as tough, hardy fighters.

wasn't his ultimate a mass teleport ability before his model was changed into human archmage and his ult was ghost form?

When gave remake, he changed his model for human Archmage, and the ghost model of Antonidas, is when transform, using the ability Spirit Form (Ultimate).

What will happen to the DotA 2 Source Engine 1? When finished the beta Source 2? I like the interface, find match of the custom modes, etc. However, no have variety of options in the interface in profile of Commends (I have not tested this options in the new engine).

They'll probably do something similar to what hive will be doing. Once they finish Reborn completely, they'll move all players to 2. Maybe slowly remove support from dota 2.1, like providing more updates to source 2 so players will be forced to migrate.

Anyway speaking of nostalgia:
I can still remember enigma casting blackhole while that music plays in the background. Ahhhh soo awesome..

The current videos are getting kinda stale though. It's either because i've played dota2 for too long already or there isn't any awesome plays from dota1 anymore.

I remember i was so bad at DotA that i only played once against players and then went back to playing against bots XD. After like 2 weeks i decided to try LoL again and now im super racist against polish people.... Anyway DotA was alot of fun even though i played against bots. I remember playing basically the Kel'Thuzad model hero only :D

I played dota in net cafe's since I was 16-17... it was awesome. back then i believe it was 5.14c ? or something way older. anyway the map was pure shit, not as pretty as it is now... it had snow, the jungle was a mess and the sentinel middle path was curved and creeps were getting stuck there like fat kids in mcdonalds.

I also remember roshan being so hard to kill it was impossible without the right hero combination like omniknight, sven, death prophet etc.

Item wise, everything was the same more or less, minus the fact dota had like -40% of the items it has now. So thats like -20 or more items back then. You basically went from Null Talisman to boots, to end-game tier items.

Hero wise I remember few very important thing:

RIKIMARU had CHAOS WARD as ULTIMATE. He was so OP with Radiance and Chaos Ward.

NAIX had 4 passives and once you get BKB on him, he was impossible to kill.

VOID'S ULTIMATE was a GLOBAL STUN. You go Refresher, and you get two 5 man stuns guaranteed.


Good and dark times of my life.
