Lol. When you shoot somebody in sneak mode, they look around for a few seconds and say "I must be seeing things" while the arrow is still stuck to their head. These kind of things happen in bethesda's games :P

Wrong.
You have the option to Feast whenever you loot. You will sometimes meet some of your 'friends' on the road, and they will offer you to 'take the first bite' from their 'food', because they are just about to eat. And aren't you supposed to sacrifice the Priest of Arkay? Don't you eat some human flesh then?

I was trying to say much without spoiling  Seems like I managed to make myself completely unclear instead. The intention was that whenever you loot only covers those dead guys (humans and undead) (The rings description, unless they changed it since last I played), but the fresh part I mentioned was in regards of exactly those you mention  But one gets to eat mostly undead, at least I did. I know.. An odd way of saying it.
However upon reading further I notice that its bugged so one can also eat from ghosts and ice wraiths for instance...

More likely an example of fail DLC. I'm not a fan of DLCs at all, but I never bought one (hehe) so I always stood kinda neutral about them. But that horse armor, damn that thing was hideous.
Deolrin
04-21-2012, 09:34 AM
Horse armor was the first DLC Bethesda ever made, for Oblivion, and it was absolutely shitty. They were just experimenting with DLC, according to them. Basically, it only let you have like... Steel, Elven and one other type of armor on your horse, and it was pretty much useless, and they still charged like $10 for it, so it's infamous for being shitty. :P
Luffy
04-21-2012, 01:46 PM
Still, some players are crazy about that DLC for some reason. And that thing didn't even gave armor rating or anything to horses, it just gave some weird hp bonus. Really, one useless DLC that is. Oh, and that "Fall of The Space Core" and "Real Carriages" too.
Deolrin
04-21-2012, 02:59 PM
*sigh*
Fall of the Space Core is not a DLC, it's a mod made by Valve.
No idea what "Real Carriages" is.
Horse armor is a shitty DLC because it's the first they've ever made, cut them some slack.
They promised that Skyrim DLC will be full of content, much like Shivering Isles for Oblivion.
Does that solve everything?

Looking forward to that as well Deolrin, though I dunno how much they can add of new stuff with all the mods already being made and since there last expansion/dlc stuff for oblivion was also just mods being sold  I loved shivering isles more than the original game itself.

For the next Elder Scroll's game, I'm really hoping it will be about the Red Guard, it would be amazing fighting off desert nomads, and the alikir (donno if i spelled that right), maybe fight some sand worms, and all sorts of crazy beasts, while surviving through a sandstorm!

The upcoming DLC has been announced; Dawnguard. There's not much information about it right now, but it will be released this summer.
There is a rumor that Dawnguard might feature something about vampires, and also something about the legendary Snow Prince. And crossbows.. My estimation is that it might also feature Solstheim as well.

C'mon, who cares about skyboost, important thing is, there's the whole damn official DLC upcoming! There should be tons of similar fan-made mods like skyboost already, so even if it doesn't get fixed, some other stuff comes out, so don't worry.
I think crossbows are really unnecessary too. Like, who would need them anyway, while there are good old bow and arrow already? I wouldn't care using crossbow even if it gets released. And I would be really pissed off if it happens to be way stronger than casual bows in any way. I would be so angry that I would look for a mod that deletes crossbows from the entire game, that's how unnecessary crossbows are, I think :D
I wonder if all those rumors about DLC would become true though.
Deolrin
05-07-2012, 11:05 AM
I'm pretty sure that the vast majority of the community wants crossbows. Crossbows are vastly different from bows; They reload slowly, they have bolts(which deal tons of damage), and hand crossbows could even be one-handed(with a shield in the other hand). Besides, everyone wants more types of weapons, and hopefully more skills\perks to go with them. I guess everyone wants all of the weapon variety from Morrowind, and I am inclined to agree. At least give us spears and crossbows!
Because honestly, screw bows. Bows are lame. Crossbows FTW.
Geazergimli2
05-07-2012, 04:07 PM
I hope they release polearms with that DLC, lucky for xbox 360 users to have this DLC 30 days earlier than pc/ps3 users =\
Luffy
05-07-2012, 05:53 PM
Screw crossbows. A real marksman uses a bow and arrow, draws the bow with his own arm muscles and shoots the target with his own skills. Crossbows would only make the game unbalanced. Screw slow loading, high damaging crossbows. I would only go with the spears or polearms, but even then a second one handed weapon type would had to be released for the balance again. But well, it's not even so hard to add one handed clubs in the game, so I would be ok with spears.
But screw crossbows! And I don't care if majority wants crossbows, majority is wrong! SCREW MAJORITY SCREW CROSSBOWS!!!1111 :p

05-07-2012, 10:15 PM
Crossbows kick ass.
Let's see a Dwarven Sphere Centurion fire one of his magic crossbow bolts at you. :xxd:
They really hurt even if you have high armor, but if you have lots of magic resistance, they barely hurt; either from equipment or from Alteration perks.

You know, normally the game doesn't reward spell-caster types well enough right? But when you do that, you become even more OP than a full skill points melee fighter.

I've pretty much just started recently, game is awesome. However when I travel to a quest location there is always a mountain or something blocking my way and I can't seem to find a way around or over to get to where I need to go, annoying! Skyrim is a mountainous area, you'll be fine when you find out the main roads. You should take help from the map, it's easier to figure out which way to take, because the awesome 3d map shows the physical geography too.

Oh well yey bows. Also whats up with the bugs spot. Randomly killing all the dragons with 0 Dmg due to hiding behind rocks. You can do the same thing with alot of dungeons.
And AI bugging a bit. Was in the discovery of Thalmore quest where you sneak into the party. At the exit the frost troll just stood there while i shot it with arrows. It could see me but didnt bother attacking o.O

So, what do you think of this DLC everyone? Well, I am not quite sure if you ask me. It had like, only 3-4 hours of gameplay in it, and some parts (like going back and forth between wayshrines to collect water) were really bald.
Also, I think Werewolf and Vampire Lord forms are just more benefitful for low-level characters. I don't think any Werewolf or Vampire Lord guy could ever surpass a warrior with some OP gear, so it really doesn't come very handy if you've got a super daedric armor with restoration-glitched enchantments, because obviously you will see that you are far more powerful in your regular form rather than Vampire Lord or Werewolf forms then. Also, I've never witnessed a Vampire Lord defeating an Ancient Dragon in head-on one vs. one combat.
I call this the downside of attributes removal.
I hope that I could find some mod that modifies lycanthropy values according to player skills. That would be better, I guess..
Deolrin

super daedric armor with restoration-glitched enchantments
I try to avoid that altogether.
Since I'm already level 60 and maxed out all of my most important skills(light armor, stealth, one-handed, archery, etc), I mostly play for fun. Ravaging a bandit camp in Werewolf form is fun. So no, I don't mind it. :D

Only problem is now that i've already played it without all these things once for 150 hours or so and now i kind of realize it doesn't really make the game that much different but im not going to throw away hours of downloading and copy paste work again so... lol

Hehe, I found one that made all snowflakes in the game have 5 times the texture size... most comments was that it had completely fucked skyrim frame rate when they installed it.
Myself I stick to food and furniture improvements and a small updated, but same size landscape texture change. (and a ton of mods not for graphical appearance).

hmm Skyrim came out on 2011 and still didn't try it(mostly because my pc couldn't handle it back then)...do you guys think it's worth trying it now that I have a gaming pc??
Lets put it like this:
http://drnikkiblog.files.wordpress.com/2012/10/12556-one-does-not-simply-beat-skyrim1.jpg
Or for references:
http://www.troll.me/images/conspiracy-keanu/what-if-arrow-to-the-knee-jokes-are-irrelevant-to-skyrim-but-are-to-troll-people-who-dont-play-it-thumb.jpg

But what it all comes down to is a splendid game you'll enjoy playing for a long time, even more if you take the time to install some of the great mods out there.

For those playing the game I would suggest how to enhance your game exp. by adding some mods if you are a person like me... I love immersion and exploration so these are the mods I would suggest:
- SkyUI (Better user interface - you need this)
- Guard Dialogue Overhaul ( guard's don't seem to use all dialogue options, and this is the fix ;)
- Convenient Horses ( yea they become convenient )
- Frostfall ( add more survival to the game without braking the actual gameplay ... the best )
- SkyRe ( Or Skyrim Redone, is a mod that changes the way Skyrim perks and sistems work from the core, also making it much more difficult )
- Pure Waters ( water is ugly in Skyrim so this makes it awesome )
- Immersive Armors and Weapons ( gues what it is )
- Wet and Cold ( mod that adds more immersion to the game )
And many more... you can find them all on Skyrim Nexus and use your combination's... also If you have any sugestions please tell me :)

-------------------------------SPOILER-----------------------------------
You should make a warrior type of char, and finish the Companions quest line and Whiterun side quest's as well as the main story line until you need to go to the Thalmor Embassy. That got me to like 31 level without the companions being completed, but I play on Master with SkyRe (Its pretty fu**** Hard). I think that SkyRe might not be compatible with Dragonborn so that is the only thing that bothers me right now, but It will eventually get patched.
I am now close to finding that last peace of Wuuthrad so I gues I will be like level 34-35 before Dragonborn :)

I keep feeling the temptation to open Skyrim, but I still haven't in a long time. I wish they would have simply added the ability to play with small groups of people instead of making another damn MMO.

Do not worry they will continue to make SP games (Bethesda) while the Zenimax Online Studios will produce ESO with completely different setting... I still think you are right you should be able to play with 3-4 friends at least, that would be cool ;)

Ever since I got my new graphic card(which isn't that great: NVIDIA GTX 550 Ti), my FPS is usually at 50-60, but occasionally I get the most terrifying FPS drops to like 10-20 FPS or so(usually inside caves with lots of fog, or when I'm in combat), so that just makes me unwilling to play. :(
I think that the lags may be caused by my processor, which is an ancient Pentium Dual Core. I don't have any texture or graphic mods installed either.

Nah, the more correct thing would be to say that its not Shivering Isles - Damn I love Shogarth, and too little of him in Skyrim. But yea, its a tough match between those two - in many ways guilds were better done in oblivion - in some cases rewards. However main story more for Skyrim and some folks. I dunno. Skyrim is a lot more entertaining than Oblivion to me. In Oblivion, the landscape was always the same, and always boring. In Skyrim, most of the game is found outside of dungeons and cities. The world is beautiful, and incredibly fun to explore.

Yep, that might be why Shivering Isles was so great for me, much fun to explore and crazy at the same time. If that could be put into Skyrim it would be awesome to behold. And agreed, the world is better and so with many items. But some quests was better done in Oblivion/Shivering. (I am not counting The Nine.. waste). I also miss the arena

Well, picked up Skyrim. Managed to reach Riftan Town.. or how it's called, and have about 4 shouts unlocked. Have been using Lydia as a mule.
Currently I am a using a 1h sword, a shield, heavy armor. Thinking of going for Dragon Armor smithing, placed 1 point in Smithing... and not exactly sure if I should go for any magic. I would rather not, because I like my brute/medieval like warrior, dunno if the content is doable without ranged attacks tho... as the latest Dragon I killed was a bit of a struggle, him not being in meele range and all.
Edit: Another problem I have is that I don't have enough Stamina to carry stuff, my (and Lydia's) bags are mostly heavy due to dragon claws, skulls and whatnot. MISC stuff basically, I assume they are useful in Dragon Armor forging? Or they are just to be sold for a nice 250-500g a piece?
Deolrin
02-27-2013, 01:41 PM
Don't worry about being melee-only. Dragons land often, and you could always give a bow to your follower, or just use a follower who knows magic spells. As for using Lydia, well, I'd definitely recommend a different follower. There are plenty of characters who are much more in-depth, and will comment much more often about stuff than Lydia. For example, you could hire a mercenary named Erik from Rorikstead - he is a very friendly chap, and he's actually a tribute to an avid Elder Scrolls fan who had cancer, and sadly, passed away before Skyrim was released.
You could also try Erandur, a Dunmer from Dawnstar. Check inside the inn. I don't really want to spoil much about him.
Serana, follower added by the Dawnguard DLC(if you have it) is also a great choice.
And about carry weight. You could try some mods, or you could try raising your stamina, or enchanting your gear\finding enchanted gear with the Fortify Carry Weight enchantment. This (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/16438) is a great mod that greatly enhances a character's appearance, and helps solve the carry weight problem in a lore friendly way. :)

Also should be said, you will prefer to have Daedric Armor than dragon, as its better - Though if I were you I get a good armor mod with a decent leather armor or heavy armor, if you dislike looking somewhat like a demon instead of a "hero"

Well, I feel cheated, I mean I trusted you guys, and look now... woke up, and the first thing that comes to mind... Skyrim.
Well Lydia died, resurrected her to get my Misc back... she had none. So I will just solo through content for now. Have to agree, Lydia was rather boring, no real comments. When I got out of jail, I hoped she'd comment about my behavior... nothing, she was as dull as any side-kick from 1990's.I found Erik, convinced his father to let him become an adventurer, hope he won't take an arrow to the knee

Okay, so went with Elven + Scaled & Plated smithing.
Ran into problems with how heavy the Scaled & Plated armor is. I guess I will install that mod you guys suggested. I know I can use console, but I feel that would take the fun away.
Also I keep getting temped by evil gods to do their bidding. Kind of annoying since my stance is of a generic hero.
Edit: The Armor Pack is awesome, but when you are playing everything on LOW and suddenly your armor looks better than the rest of the game, that doesn't really fit. Prolly when I get a better PC sometime this year, will install all them sweet sweet mods. Anyway, thanks guys! :)

Wouldn't call Daedric princes "evil gods". Not some of 'em, anyway. Generic heroes commonly look for their artifacts in the TES lore, so I think it's fine. :P
And uh, you could find the Steed standing stone(in the far, cold north of Skyrim, near Winterhold, I think), which reduces any weight from your worn armor(though both the Light Armor and Heavy Armor trees have a perk for that), increases your carry weight and reduces movement speed penalty for wearing heavy armor.

Honestly thats how I trained my light armor (When I went from Heavy to light, as besides the stagger meant little to me at this point). (I did also have a fairly good health regeneration).

Cheating. Please don't do that. Takes away all the fun.
Plus, getting to 100 in your main skills is incredibly easy. I'm a sneaky dagger\archer type character, and still managed to get 100 in Block, Two-Handed, Light Armor and Heavy Armor rather easily.

I do believe you missed my point entirely... I was making a joke and referring to what I did when I after 260 hours+ of gameplay changed from Heavy Armor to light armor due to cosmetics, but wanted to avoid the weight at that point..and as someone else say: Its grinding, not cheating
Besides Grinding is part of skyrim - Want to get smithing? Good luck getting that purely by smithing what you need.. Same goes for potions and so forth. And yes, I have trained just about any stat to about 100 by using it, but still I "grinded" for both smithing, enchanting, magics and so on. You appear to have no clue how long for instance it takes to get restoration up (When one use it only for healing), even with attempts to grind it, I am still only at 67 for that one. With the mechanic of gaining skills at it is, there is a large part of grinding intertwined with the gameplay and as such you will also have grinded, though you might not consider it such - For instance purely by going with the main story, can you honestly say you got dagger, archer, block, two handed and so forth without killing other enemies than those you meet during that story? (Yes hunting foxes, wolves and so forth with a bow is grinding, since that is how you increase that skill - thats how skyrim is made, same as getting hit on the armor is how that increases) Just the fact that you have both light and heavy indicates a level of grinding as you have made a change in armor to get it. Same does an archer/sneaky that gets 100 in block (Or you might just indicate your bad at it ). Anyway point being that by just going around killing or lets say in case of a warewolf eating, you are grinding - Calling it cheating is just a major fail.

I just think I am not used with these types of RPGs, since I didn't ever had the chance to play Neverwinter, Baldur's Gate, Icewin Dale, etc. When I had tho, I felt the graphics were too bad, and I lacked patience. The only similar RPG I played before would be KOTOR I & II.
Anyway, I don't feel like there is any grinding in Skyrim, it's not like you are stuck and have to grind to get to a point. I am semi-stuck now in certain cities, with the questing... so I just went to a different one.
Deolrin

Besides Grinding is part of skyrim - Want to get smithing? Good luck getting that purely by smithing what you need.. Same goes for potions and so forth.
I have over 600 hours total on all of my characters, and this is literally the only instance where I "grinded". This was before the Smithing patch, mind you. I would collect every piece of leather and hide I find, kill every wolf, bear and fox, and when my adventures take me to a town, I would craft a bunch of Hide Bracers. Leveled me up pretty fast to 100.
I never really liked alchemy. It's just... Confusing. I basically feel like I have no idea what I'm doing, and 90% of the time, the potions I create will be useless. Really, the only potions I use on a regular basis are Blacksmithing potions and Healing potions. I do, however, use some poisons when fighting powerful enemies, especially during lower levels.
Anyway, Red Baron. My point is that I never really got out of the way to level things up. I switched to Imperial Heavy Armor during the Imperial Legion quests, upgraded it to Legendary through smithing, enchanted it to be awesome, found a secret\hidden\unique closed Imperial 'cavalry' helmet(looks like the ones in Oblivion) inside the East Empire Company warehouse outside of Solitude, improved\enchanted it as well, and from then on I just did quests in that armor. Didn't notice much of a change, because I hit the armor cap with both of my sets, thanks to smithing.

Use SkyRe it allows for a greater level cap, and skill trees go up to level 300. Its awesome and much more balanced... there is no stuff like Drinding.
Yea, I have that one as well

Yep, but thats somewhat in relation to what I meant - doing all the exploration and such is in a way "grinding", though I do not consider it such either - And I would likely have gone the same had I picked a side (Sounds like you been playing it over and over from new, some times - while I should mention that mine is still my first char - I am basically exploring everything, so for me certain things have come down to "grinding" as I don't increase them doing my normal play - Armor: I am a conjure/archer and never gets hit, restoration: I don't have a follower, pickpocket: not a thief, block: No weapons and so forth). Sound nice with the helmet - Though I personally prefer to appear less armored due to the talking with people appear more real to me that way. Might chance should I get around to actually complete the main story at some point. And yea, alchemy is odd and I basically just used it and got it for two purposes: Blacksmith potion and enchanting potion - I tend to find all the healing I need and rarely get around to create cure poison when I need it - I have had a use for it once for a carry potion - But I did look it up to see what the ingredients were. As for confusion I find it somewhat easy, 4 effects which is known by either use or eating it - combining two ingredients with the same effect creates the potion with that effect, add a third for additional effect - Such as increased duration.
Anyone got a good mod with lots of hidden ways?

No, it isn't to my knowledge. Besides the deadric is also a heavy armor + in my opinion the vanilla dragon armor is pretty damn ugly.

@Deolrin, I actually managed to understand Alchemy.
So what you have to do first is decide what kind of potion you want to make. Let's say you want to make Restore Health potion, but you don't know how to, or which ingredients to use. Well you need to harvest ingredients and eat them to show their properties. When you find two ingredients which both have Restore Health as a property, than you go the Alchemist Table, use those two ingredients and there you have it, a potion.
Basically ingredients have different properties and when you want to make a potion you just need to match the ingredients based on properties.
Deolrin
03-02-2013, 08:20 AM
Yes, that's the basics, Edhel-dur. :P
But every ingredient has four possible effects. And you can simply mix three ingredients with unknown effects, and if any of the effects 'overlap', or exist in two or more ingredients, you will create a potion and permanently discover those effects. The only problem is: How do you level it? Do you just keep discovering effects and make random potions? Do you try to make the most expensive potions(those give you the most experience)? Do you only make useful potions? I don't understand. :(

Leveling it is simple - The more potions you make (no matter the type), the more you level - Using items to increase alchemy effectiveness helps (For me it also appears that using more rare ingredients gives more experience). Not sure if thats what your asking though.

Correct but that is because you use SkyRe, if not Alchemy is more like a grinding perk tree... but SkyRe gives you more options with it :D

Stop bringing up that SkyRe mod. It completely breaks any sort of immersion that Bethesda created. It adds a shitton of stupid, ugly items(like Daedric armor recolors into golden\white colors), etc.

No you can't. You have to get perks for that, in the Alchemy table.
And you can mix up to three ingredients together, though I don't think that 3 ingredients with only the "Restore Health" effect in common are more powerful than 2 ingredients.

"blow up bandit camps with explosives"
"disguise as a Forsworn" -> Why?
"It is also strongly advised to start a new game. Do not attempt to apply this mod to an old char - it will mess everything up. The older the char, the bigger the damage caused. Characters created with SkyRe can NOT roll back to vanilla, so backing up savegames is advised (as always)." -> I am still playing my original char - Hence no odd mods before that  Then maybe.
"The goofy "Fists of Steel" has been removed; all unarmed perks are in "Light Weaponry"" -> I Disagree with the thoughts about Heavy armor
But well main point is that it changes so much that I would not use it nor recommend it for a first time play through, for a second less serious one, I'll be willing to both recommend and give it a try. However we're recommending for a new player.

Oh, right. Well my Alchemy is still 26 and I feel like it should have been higher for how many potions I crafted.
Anyway really like the choice system in this game. There are no Good/Evil points, and most of the time the choice you make isn't through dialogue but through your actions.

So I feel dumb for saying this, but I have at last learned how to transfer my items from the personal inventory to a stash or chest. Now I have no more weight problems as I just stash everything in one place. It's in the Companion HQ. I hope no one steals anything from there.
I've also got the perk for Heavy Armor to not slow me anymore, feels a difference in combat as I can avoid power attacks better, when I'm out of Stamina and I can't block.
So I've only just started doing the Thieves Guild questline, and so I want to start using Bows as my weapon, but apparently I suck at using them effectively. What strategies do you guys recommend.

You should combine bows with stealth, that Is the combination I play with, also use poisons on Arrows (Especially if you play on Master) and use Light Armor... sneak just does not go well with heavy armor, as well as bows ;)

They might be safe for it, otherwise get the General Storage mod (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/18340) to ensure no matter what mod or update you apply you'll never risk losing stored items. I believe I already mentioned it, but find some Dwemer locations and get all those Dwemer ingots - There is usually a ton of them.
Stash as many as possible and start creating Dwemer bows - They are cheap yet give decent skill upgrades.

Well it seems they are doing this for two reasons. The first reason is so you can keep on leveling even after you reached the 100 cap. The second reason I think it serves as a respecc. Like you understand that you don't want certain perks because they don't work how you imagined it. Or maybe they just want you easily re-specialize from Warrior to Thief. Eitherway sounds wierd. Though it will also come with a new difficulty.
Yes actually I have added the unofficial patches and the optimization for performances mod.
Edit: I also added some immersion and UI enhancing mods. Also character skin and mesh improvements, mostly for the face. Tried to install better hairs but they look to good compared to everything else. Also Immersion Armors mod doesn't install for me, I think it has something to do with my hardware.
However for some odd reason I still have some FPS drops when I go into the Red Flagon. I noticed it happens everytime when there is shining rocks/textures in caves. Any ideas on how to fix that?
Oh, I also can play with textures on Medium now since I got the optimization for performance mod.

Nice  As for the red flagon (I assume you meant the ragged flagon) I would propose to look at the two mods I posted a link to earlier, in regards to cleaning the files and hiding things from view not visible anyway - Both increase performance without risk.
Links:
Texture Optimizer (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/12801)(be a bit careful with this - Read carefully)
TES5Edit (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25859/)to clean your save (safe)
Try updating the texture or the area for that region (if area remove stuff from chests first):
For instance is it just the entrance that does it - mayhap another (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15395/?tab=3&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmodimages%2F%3Fuser%3D0%26id%3D15395) will help?
Or do a little reduction on textures, while still keeping them nice:
Redux (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/10239)
Or removing fog (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/736)might help, though also ruin some immersion
This have been said to solve lag issues for some: Window Mode (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/4)
As an alternative to those commands to remove shadows, I recommend:
Performance Improvement (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/10789) - This works quite great if you have a low grade performance - Though I myself am not using it, I have tested it on a low end setup.
According to some an FPS limiter mod (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/34)can help, though I dunno if it will make any difference and be careful with it - Alternatively you can use nvidea's manager or MSI afterburner.
Just for kicks some mods I found and want to add myself:
Sword of Woe replacer (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/33018/) - More unique appearance
Red Eagle Sword replacer (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/32930/) - Make them have their own look
And make the easter-egg (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/10126/?tab=3&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmodimages%2F%3Fuser%3D0%26id%3D10126) look more worthy
Oh for fun try this:
Tropical (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/33017/)or Minecraft (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19104/?tab=3&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmodimages%2F%3Fuser%3D0%26id%3D19104)

I don't want to add any weapon mods just yet, maybe I will for my second run. I checked that Tropical mod earlier today, sounds good but, maybe on the second run.

Doubt it, they are just textures and as such doesn't require anything else. If you have the unofficial texture pack patch I would recommend getting that, but as your not running with high quality texture pack from them I see no need.

I would assume it could be this one, if you have that problem:
Skin Glow Removal (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/29791)
Well other than that, I know that some character glow is controlled by this command which you could set to 0 in the init file:
iBlurDeferredShadowMask to 0
It effects the shadow as well, but can be made up for my adjusting those as well (its only how hard the shadows appear).
Shadow commands:
iShadowMapResolution=4096,
iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=4096
iShadowMapResolutionSecondary=4096
(Be aware that this high might not be what you want, just suggestion)
The glow (if I am thinking about the same one as you) is not a problem all have though.

Playing Skyrim, I have to think that TESO won't be as great. I mean, Skyrim is good without mods, but it's great with mods. Especially on the performance and optimization side. I mean Blizzard has a long history of great optimization on their games, that's one of the reasons why WoW was such a great MMO. I disagree with you here. The game is supposed to be good stand-alone. Addons are there to customize and go from good to great.
The problem is, as you enter the final stage of the Dragonborn quests which in-game are reguarded as the main storyline along side the Civil War, nothing unique happens, and it's all brain dead.
I had to use my brain to kill normal dragons, as a close combat character, I had to make them come on the ground. Alduin wouldn't tho, he was just flying around, so I had to use Dragonrend. Okay, but once he is on the ground, he was 3-6 hits dead. He is the main character you want to slay. And he died in 3-6 hits, without anything spectacular coming from him. He barely did any damage to me.
After he dies, you aren't rewarded with much. You are in Valhalla, you see some characters who you encountered earlier, and you can't have any kind of deep interaction with them. I meet Ysgrimmar and he doesn't notice I am using his shield. I meet Koldrak and he doesn't ask anything about the guild, or comment about me as the Guild Master.
The Thieves Guild ending was amazing. You become an agent of Nocturne, you make a pact with her, you are given a full set of thief items (swords, bow, full armor), you become the leader of the Guild, you are given a new daily power to use. Sure, the last fight wasn't that good, but he was just a mortal, a human. And killing him you also need to find a way out and than luck comes into play and saves you. It's dynamic.
The Dragonborn ending isn't dynamic. I had more trouble with regular dragons than with Alduin. I don't feel great that I killed Alduin. It felt like I used all my strength to crush a bug. Dragonrend could have had a longer cooldown, Alduin could have had more health, scripted stuff could have happen especially since the fight was in Valhalla. I mean he feasts on the dead, yet he never releases them to attack you? And the path to Sovengard, is really dull. I really expected a unique looking, with more interesting creatures and puzzles dungeon. Not same old, same old. I mean, on my way to defeat the 'great evil', I see 'same old, same old' areas and mechanics? All they did was spawn a lot of undeads with helmets which takes 3 attacks to kill.
Just that, it really felt immersive breaking, or maybe as not as immersive as other quest chains.
Edit: Still the game overall is great.

Ahh, well thats why  I haven't come to that part yet - I have only acquired the dragon rend, I have yet to complete the main story go to Valhalla, kill him play any of Dawnguard other than random vampire spawn and do any dragonborn dlc stuff  Been way too busy completing every single other side-quest and finding every location. If its as you say, which I don't doubt - then I would/will feel equally disappointed. I have already seen some examples of that in the game, and having the ending like that is typical - reminds about my disappointment in the Oblivion ending (something the shivering Isles ending fixed, by being so awesome ). So if they have done that again, meh hope the dlc ending make up for it to some degree.
But well, that is one of the prime reasons I have for going into game creation, so at least I can take comfort in the fact that it is still something thats lacking even in great games. :xxd:

I did a lot of main and side quests too. Just that I wanted to save some for my second character who will be a thief. I will also add more mods for my second run, make it more realistic. But that will happen when I get a new PC. Haven't done much of Dawnguard tbh, might do on second run. Assassin-Thief-Vampire-Dark Elf incoming I suppose.

In case you make an assassin, I suggest you try out Illusion magic. It's really fun to frenzy people and make them fight eachother, or go invisible for a stealthy kill, or stab someone, calm them down and then stab them in the back again. :D

Simple, realistic, doesn't destroy my performance. I love the mid-day lighting conditions outside, but I don't really like the uber-dark caves.

Could anyone give their opinions on this mod http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/1875
I'm asking because I don't 'see' the differences between this and RLO. But I know that RLO is still incomplete.

I am judging from their reference to a booster mod that it does affect performance, though if I read correctly on the booster comments - using the booster seems to allow to some more extensive mods (like it) to run without a hinge.

Okay, so I've tested that mod. I don't like it because the night has a purple haze, and the indoors have a green haze. It's anything but realistic. During the day it's all good, but otherwise, not realistic at all.
It does decrease performance. I haven't tried their booster mod, mostly because I don't have CPU to spare.
So currently I am back on using Climates of Tamriel.
Thanks for your answers guys.

Yeah I did, I knew about it for a while, I just feel that it's too far from being complete. I really like it, but first I want to let them polish it a little more.
Also I'm still on my first run, continuing on my warrior. I didn't upgrade my PC yet, and I want to save RLO for my second run later this year. Thanks for answers though. :)

Was those I was referring to, since I consider them boosters as they boost the game performance, whether by optimizing the game or optimizing graphic-card reaction came to one for me  However I did have one real booster that really was a kick, but it never got updated for the new stuff. I'll tell if I find a good booster, other than the ones your already aware of.

So, I have finally given a try to HIALGOBOOST mod - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15123#content
Comments:
It's pretty good actually, especially when fighting, although it might be slow at start of the game. What bothers tho, is that in the top-right corner there is a franchise icon which pops up when you use this booster, breaks immersion really. Otherwise it's a good booster.
Edit: So, because my current PC can't handle Skyrim with all the glory of the mods I want to have, and because I am hooked on playing The Elder Scrolls, I actually installed Morrowind + Expansions and found nice mods which work with it. Might sound weird, but I am pleased the music is similar.

Also for the house mod I installed before heartfire was even made - actually I am considering if they stole the idea from it ) - but its basically awesome.

So, because I am hooked to Skyrim, as in I couldn't get into Morrowind and still wanted to play a TES game, I have created my second character (based on an old character of mine, she had a story here on THW, and believe it or not I didn't knew who Alleria was in wc2 when I created this character) in Skyrim...
Alleria Silverleaf, a Bosmer. She arrived in Skyrim as an outlaw and joined the Bandit Clan at Valtheim Tower. This clan operated on the road between Whiterun and Riften. They preyed on merchants and travellers.
However, with the Civil War starting, travelers are few, and those who travel are better guarded. Coin was getting scarce. Eventually there was less coin on the road than hands to take it. So Alleria decided to kill everyone, take all the valuables, and head west to Whiterun.
Altho what fortune awaits a Bosmer outlaw, in the Nord country of Skyrim remains to be seen... rumors are, The Thieves Guild is recruiting...
Using heap of mods, mostly for realistic immersion. Found out they actually don't kill my current PC, as they are just text and small content. Amongst them is Frostfall, Wet and Cold, Better Quests, Interesting NPCs (<- awesome level over 9000), Skyrim Unleashed, DUEL, Live Another Life, Immersive Patrols, iHud. Still using Climates of Tamriel as my lighting mod for now.
My only rules are that I never fast travel, and I don't use quest markers, unless there is no hint in the quest description about the general area of where should I go. I still use carriages tho, but only between major cities. Sadly Scenic Carriages doesn't work for me.
Also I play in First Person now for like 90% of the game. Skyrim now feels much more enjoyable and interesting.

It is up to you really, If you feel like changing the game you will find mods easy. But some mods are really needed like SkyUI, Unofficial Skyrim patch etc.
Now If you want some armor mods you can look back in this thread, we mentioned allot of them... I would recommend Aesir Armor and Immersive armors... now since I am someone who likes immersion I would use SkyRe (but that changes the game significatelly) and FrostFall and Realistic needs etc.
Cant name all of them but there are allot of awesome mods on the nexus.

Yea there are some must-have mods on nexus. I'd list a few that I install every time I feel like playing Skyrim:
-SkyUI
-Unofficial Skyrim patch
-Dragon bundle(WARNING: using all at the same time is only recommended for veterans):
*Deadly Dragons
Optional: Deadly Dragons Armory
*Dragons Diversified
*Dragon Combar Overhaul
-A Quality World Map
-Total Overhauls (only one - I miss things from the vanilla game and these mods virtually fill the void and fix many balance problems.):
*T3nd0s Skyrim Redone
OR
*ACE
OR
*Requiem
-Alternate Start
-Better Females

Meh I usually only use one or max two of those dragon mods, only both 3 when I'M playing something awfully powerful, like redguard conjurer with SkyRe - that can literally kill 20 vanila dragons all alone (infinite summon count for 2 minutes once a day, with 10s or longer cast time... But against a dragon I have time for that + infinite mana for same time once a day, both draining your life slowly, but pots handle that well enough).
One dragon enhancement mod is necessary if you ask me, since the base ones are pretty easy with any class. With an assassin, you just 1-hit them (overhauls stop this crazy sneak behaviour btw), with an archer they are just a few shots and with a mage it's even easier than with ranger. I guess it's the hardest for warrior type characters, but once you get it down it's food.
In contrast, the most fun I've ever had with a dragon was when I found a Deadly Dragons dracolich that killed every NPC around and resurrected them as his minions :3 Took me a lot of time to clean the field, and had to load a few times because I got myself cornered. Also used WARZONES mod at that time, and the dragon found himself a nice little war zone with like 40 NPCs to kill and turn into undead. I didn't understand at first why did the empire and the rebel soldiers not attack each other, then, after killing a few, and seeing how they ignored the dragon, did I only realise that the dragon's breath itself was what turned them, after killing them. And it's kinda hard with an assassin on an open field with sunlight, swarming zombies and a circling dragon overhead :D
Since vanila Skyrim has not enough content and is too simple for me I always use an overhaul, since they really mix things up and add many features.
And yea, the how I feel like mods are like the one where you can build your own city (dunno the name right now), or magic mods (not Midas, I don't like that one). I also usually DL SkyMoMod (Skyrim Monster Mod) as an optional mod - it adds great variety to what you can fight against, and they are pretty unique.
